Currently I've got 4 Powerpoint slide presentations I'm working on. Everything is near perfect and complete, however one thing I can't seem to figure out is how to add my own music?
I would like to add MY OWN songs from various CDs. How do I do that? I tried ripping only the songs I like but I'm not sure how to take a ripped song and import it into PowerPoint.
Please don't tell me I need a special program to do that unless you can provide a link to something FREE like SoundEdit or CoolEdit. It sucks that these programs are not out on the market anywhere. I need to get a Mac…. I've got Director 8.5 so I can make movies, but it's Mac formatted…
Back on the subject!
Anyway, if there's an easy way to add music other than having special programs, PLEASE tell me……
Other than that, I pretty much have it under control.
Boring…… I don't like those cheesy inserts. I want to CUSTOMIZE this to music.
1. put in the CD and find which track you want
2. Go to insert and then to movies and sounds OR media
3. Pick to play CD audio track
4. A menu will pop up where you pick your track
5. Have it start at your starting song, then end with same or different song
6. It will ask to start automatically or with a click, pick one.
7. An Icon will appear. Right click it and pick custom animation
8. Go to where it says stop playing. Tell it to stop after final slide
9. Play and see if it works
If you have a different version of powerpoint it may work differently. Just play with it a little until it works!

Horaayy..there are 4 comment(s) for me so far ;)
Have you tried going to Insert, Movie and Sounds, and clicking on Sound from File. It should work and you should be able to work to were you can play the music over the number of slides you want. I wont say I'm a PowerPoint pro but I do know a thing or two and if you need anymore help, email me at queen_suckup@yahoo.com.

Okay first you have to burn a cd of only the songs that you want in your presentation. Then click on insert, movies and sounds, then go to play cd audio track. Choose whatever tracks you want or if you want it to loop or whatnot. Then hit ok. Then pick if you want it to be played when you click or when the slide show begins. THEN right click it and go to custom animation. Under while playing…put continue slide show. Then choose when you want the song to stop playing. Unfortunately you have to do this for each song that you put on there…I dont know of an easier way to do this…

It's pretty much that simple to add it in, you can then manipulate the sound object on your slide, to play, start, and end on your command.
